so it's been awhile since I have updated my blog postings; could I be busy with too many projects? nah~~
The homeless project is looking at an event in NYC and the networking has begun to see if that's viable. I am committed to writing the "Homelessness and The Power of One" book as a companion piece to the film. I have given myself this summer to complete that and to seek a publisher. Telling the story of setting out for three years and fifteen cities to meet and film our nation's homeless is a story worth telling. This project is only five years into it's ten year timeline. !
I have taken on an intern this summer. Morgan Dameron. She just finished her freshman year at USC and was the scholarship winner for KC Women in Film & TV last year. She is amazing and I look forward to working with her. She is a film student with a full ride and will study film production.
My jazz film has an opportunity to be reviewed by AMC for some sponsorship opportunities. I have to present a rough draft and while we are still in production I hope to have a rough draft done by late summer/early fall.
Darryl Terrell, my saxophone player extraordinaire is playing at the Royals game on June 22nd. He will be playing the national anthem on the pitcher's mound. Very exciting exposure for him. He will also have a pre-show in a tented event before the game for the Negro League Museum. I'm very proud of Darryl.
signing off for now....
